Jessica Niles DeHoff (born 1978, California) is a visual artist,  writer, and licensed architect.  Drawing on her earlier career in architecture and urban design, her work focuses on the gestures that dramatize interactions between people and their social, cultural, and spatial environments.  She holds degrees from Harvard College and Yale School of Architecture, and she has taught design at universities in Japan, China, and the USA.

Reconnecting Cultures is a magnificent and poetic journey through the mind of an architect.
— Spacing Magazine

A veteran world traveler, Jessica has written art and design criticism for magazines and blogs all over Asia, culminating in a full-length monograph on the work of Hong Kong architect Rocco Yim (Reconnecting Cultures, 2013).  In addition to her own writing work, she has edited projects for respected publishers including Princeton Architectural Press and MIT Press.

Jessica's pro bono work in Washington DC and Cambodia has centered on urban improvement and teaching the next generation of design consumers.  Her wide-ranging life experiences have included waitressing, digging at an archaeological site, and many hours of karaoke.  She is accomplished in all areas of design, from furniture design and construction to building demolition and historic restoration and adaptive reuse.
